Health Research

I’m proud to have worked with several organisations to create videos about health research. As these were created during lockdown, imaginative use of Zoom recordings, motion graphics and my own stock footage were crucial. In each case, the music was specifically written for the commission.

The University of Manchester’s Healthy Ageing Group commissioned two films about a publicity campaign aimed at older people during lockdown:

The National Institute for Health Research’s Applied Research Council for Greater Manchester commissioned a video about the importance of involving members of the public in all aspects of health research.

I was commissioned to create a film about the Together trial, run by Dr Helen Hawley-Hague from the University of Manchester, looking into the use of smartphone technology in home exercise interventions:

The following films were created for Mobilise-D, an EU research consortium looking at how wearable, mobile technology can help monitor mobility loss and help identify mobility problems early, leading to better healthcare. Again, although the research partners are based across the world, filming in the early stages had to be done in large part by Zoom, because of Covid-19.
